Enhance your home security with our advanced Vibration Sensor, designed to seamlessly integrate with the OSI Smart Alarm System Gen 2. For homeowners seeking advanced security measures, vibration sensors detect the slightest vibrations around the home, such as those caused by tampering with stationary windows or doors. This sensor offers early detection before an intruder can gain entry. We advise using the our Contact Sensors for windows that do open and these Vibration Sensors forstationary windows with do not open.

The Gen 2 Vibration Sensor is to sensitive, what can I do?

To help with the sensitivity of the vibration sensors in areas where traffic may cause false alarms due to external vibrations, you can consider several adjustments and solutions:

1. Sensor Placement:

  • Positioning Away from External Vibrations: Ensure the vibration sensors are mounted in areas that are less prone to vibrations caused by nearby traffic or other external sources. Placing the sensors further away from windows, doors, or walls exposed to heavy traffic can reduce false triggers.
  • Isolate the Sensor: Mount the sensor on a more stable surface, such as an interior wall or a sturdy object, to limit the effects of ground-level vibrations.

3. Use Dampening or Padding:

  • Place a dampening material (such as rubber or foam padding) between the sensor and the surface it is mounted on. This can help absorb some of the unnecessary vibrations from the traffic, reducing false alarms.

4. Alternative or Complementary Sensors:

  • In environments with heavy traffic, using other types of sensors, like motion detectors or door/window contact sensors, can be a more reliable option. These are less likely to be affected by traffic vibrations but still offer security coverage.

By implementing one or more of these solutions, you should be able to fine-tune the system's responsiveness to reduce false alarms while maintaining effective security.
